Why a battery cooler
Heat is what ages a lithium battery. A drone battery comes off the aircraft warm, and charging it right away pushes the cells hotter still. Most pilots either wait, which costs flight time, or charge hot, which costs cycles. The Battery Cool-Down Station fixes both. Set the battery on the station, plug in the fan, and air is pulled up through the pack from underneath while it rests or charges. In our own use on cleaning drones, the station cuts the heat the battery holds during charging by up to 90 percent, so the pack charges cooler and goes back on the aircraft sooner.
Sizes

What is in the box
One Battery Cool-Down Station in the size you choose, with the cooling fan already fitted in the base, plus the lift-off canopy that covers the battery. The power cord is attached to the fan and ends in a USB plug, with a speed controller inline. Plug it into a standard USB battery pack or any USB wall adapter and it is ready.
Frequently asked questions
Does the battery cooler work while the battery is charging?
Yes. That is the main use. The battery sits in the station with its charge lead and balance lead free, so you plug the charger in as usual and the fan keeps the pack cool for the whole charge.
Will it fit my drone battery?

Can I use it for batteries that are not drone batteries?
Yes. Any lithium, LiPo, Li-ion or LiFePO4 pack that fits the cavity can be cooled in it: RC car and boat packs, e-bike batteries, power tool batteries and camera batteries.
How does it power up?
It is purpose-built to run off a standard battery pack with a USB port, the same power bank you carry for a phone, so it cools batteries out in the field. At home or in the shop you can add a USB wall adapter and run it from an outlet instead. The cord is attached to the fan and ends in a USB plug, with a speed controller inline so you set the airflow you want. Nothing else to configure.

Is cooling a LiPo battery really necessary?
Lithium cells lose capacity faster the hotter they run, and charging a warm pack is the fastest way to swell it. Cooling the battery down before and during the charge is the single easiest thing you can do to get more cycles out of it.
